Filing efficiently when you have backlogs

Dreading the filing papers that you have been procrastinating because it kept on piling and before you know it you have already mounds of papers on your desk that you need to file it ASAP because your filing box is already exploding.

So here are the simple and easy steps to file these mounds of papers.

1.      File in the first hours of work or first hours of your day. This way your focus will be on the papers that you need to file and distractions are at minimal.

2.      When there is too much of papers to file and these mean that you have procrastinated for over 2 or more months. Segregate them by month. Then put them separately in a folder or envelop and using a masking tape label them properly. Once done, stop when bored/tired.

3.      Once you have separated them by months and you are not yet tired or bored then you can now proceed in sorting the papers by date.

4.      Once you have sorted them out by their date it is now time to list the folders that you needed to put them into. For example, car bills, personal data folder, card bills etc.

5.      Now, using your list you can now put the papers to file in their respective folders or filing cabinets. Enjoy!

Always remember that you can stop and do other things once you have done steps 1 to 2. Then you can get back to them whenever you are ready but the best time in filing is the hour that starts of your day. Because these hours are have less distraction so more time in finishing your filing.

Well I just do it a while ago and did promise myself not do this again ever! :)
